Abstract:
Purpose/SignificanceBootleg behavior is ubiquitous among Internet business employees. The success of innovation will bring huge profits to enterprises. However, few companies study employees'bootleg innovation behavior. From the perspective of organization support, this paper explores how to encourage employees'bootleg behaviors in order to bring more creativity and opportunities to firms.
Method/ProcessThis paper analyzes survey data from 400 staff in Internet firms, and builds a relationship model of organization support, bootleg innovation and job satisfaction.Based on the social exchange theory, the paper analyzes the model with correlation analysis and regression analysis, bootstrap intermediary effect test and a series of analyzing methods.
Result/ConclusionThe study shows that:support and care from organization have a significant positive impact on job satisfaction and bootleg innovation. The value identification of organization support has no obvious effect on job satisfaction and bootleg innovation, but negative impact.Job satisfaction plays a part of intermediary role between organizing support and bootleg innovation. Therefore, if a firm wants to increase the probability of employees'bootleg innovation, it needs to do three things:enhancing job support, improving interests and upgrading job satisfaction, among which, job satisfaction should be put on top.In addition, firms should strengthen business systems such as employees'performance appraisal and career planning.
