Abstract: The combination of finance and digital technology has given birth to universal digital finance, which has injected new vitality into high-quality transformation of economy. Using the panel data of Chengdu-Chongqing urban agglomeration from 2011 to 2019, this paper constructs a system of high-quality economic development indicators to measure high-quality development of economy, and examines the impact of digital finance development on high-quality development of economy and the spatial effect of digital finance development in Chengdu-Chongqing urban agglomeration. The results show that development of urban digital finance in Chengdu-Chongqing urban agglomeration can promote high-quality development of urban economy, and the development of high-quality economy has positive spatial spillover effect, but the spatial spillover effect of digital finance development is not obvious. Based on the above conclusions, this paper puts forward that Chengdu-Chongqing urban agglomeration should take scientific and technological innovation as focus to further enhance the supporting role of digital finance for high-quality economic development, at the same time, it should clarify the development orientation of each city in urban agglomeration, enhance the participation of each city in collaborative development, further stimulate the spatial spillover effect of digital financial development, and promote Chengdu and Chongqing two central cities to give better play to their radiation and driving role in urban agglomeration.
