Abstract: As an ecosystem integrating multiple technologies, the metaverse is a technological extension based on real-world activities, which can provide a huge driving force for human liberation. With the support of digital technology, the need for business development, the drive of capital interests and the intervention of the government, the metaverse has gradually formed an architecture model of innovative terminal service application scenarios supported by digital technology facilities and based on hardware front-end devices. The metaverse itself has functions such as space-time expansion, rich interaction methods, and accurate algorithms, which can effectively improve the level of productivity, expand the scope of communication, and meet people’s growing material and spiritual needs, thereby promoting people’s labor liberation, social relationship liberation and personality liberation. But at the same time, the metaverse may also give rise to the alienation of people, labor and communication, which brings uncertainty risks to people's liberation. Therefore, the development of the metaverse should adhere to the people-oriented development concept, promote the sharing of metaverse technology, establish long-term measures to regulate the logic of capital, and open up broad prospects for human liberation.
