Purpose/Significance To analyze the economic development efficiency of provincial capital Guiyang is of great significance to promoteher high quality development.

Method/Process By summarizing the analysis methods of total factor productivity of economic development, this paper uses non-parametric DEA-Malmquist index method and comparative research method to construct the input-output efficiency index and benefit index of Guiyang's economic development, and then analyzes the economic development efficiency and benefit of the whole city in the past ten years.

Result/Conclusion The results show that the economic growth of Guiyang is increasing, productivity efficiency is leading the whole province. The rapid economic development of Guiyang is mainly brought about by technological progress and efficiency. The speed of technological progress is faster than improvement of technological efficiency.The labor productivity of Guiyang has been continuously improving and it is obviously ahead of other cities in Guizhou. However, the energy consumption is the No. 1 in the whole province, and there is much room for improvement in capital output ratio. The paper finally puts forward some counter measures and suggestions.
