Abstract: Rural revitalization strategy is the starting point for “Three Rural Work (agriculture, rural areas and farmers)” in the new era. To promote the development of urban and rural integration is the essential path to implement rural revitalization strategy, and the logical necessity to address the problems between urban and rural areas and achieve comprehensive and high-quality development. Based on the practice of promoting urban and rural integration in Sichuan Province, this paper summarizes the specific experiences in guiding urban and rural planning, coordinating urban and rural infrastructure construction, integrated development of urban and rural industries and coordinated development of urban and rural basic public services. At present, the new pattern of urban and rural development has been initially established and the gap between urban and rural areas has been narrowing. However, there are still many problems in the process of urban and rural integration, such as obvious overall gap between urban and rural areas, large regional differences in urban and rural integration, imperfect integration mechanism of urban and rural elements, and unbalanced allocation mechanism of urban and rural public resources. In view of the above problems and the basic requirements of rural revitalization, this paper puts forward some countermeasures and suggestions to promote urban and rural integration in Sichuan Province.
