Objective/SignificationEngine remanufacturing has many advantages, such as high technology content, good economic efficiency, low resource consumption, and little environmental pollution. The development of vehicle engine remanufacturing industry can bring a lot of positive impacts to Chengdu city.

Method/ProcessThis article analyzes comprehensively the development status of the automobile remanufacturing industry in Chengdu, and discusses the development advantages of Chengdu automobile engine remanufacturing industry from aspects of development potential, automobile industry foundation, and technology accumulation in related fields of remanufacturing. It also analyzes the main problems faced by the development of vehicle engine remanufacturing industry in Chengdu.

Result/ConclusionBased on the above discussion, this paper puts forward some suggestions from five aspects: 1) promoting remanufacturing enterprises to attract talents from outside and cultivate talents from inside; 2) building vehicle engine remanufacturing technology R & D platform; 3) creating reverse logistics system; 4) strengthening the training and introduction of professional talents; 5) perfecting laws and regulations and related policies. With these five countermeasures, the vehicle engine remanufacturing industry in Chengdu will get better and faster development.
