Abstract:
Purpose/SignificanceThe relationship between human resource management and embeddedness foci has been a topic of interest for a number of researchers. Previous researchers have explored the relationship between single human resource management practice and job embeddedness from the perspective of social exchange. This paper tests empirically the effects of high commitment work system on embeddedness foci based on resources conservation theory, expands the application scope of resource conservation theory, and enriches further the human resource management theory and employee embedding theory.
Method/ProcessThe study examines the relationship between high commitment work system and embeddedness foci with 288 valid samples of supervisor-subordinate dyads at two time points.
Result/ConclusionThe results indicate that high commitment work system is positively related to embeddedness foci, organizational embedding and occupational embedding, and supervisor support positively adjusted the above relationships.
