Purpose/SignificanceAn important measure to solve the problems of agriculture, rural areas and farmers is to raise farmers' income, and a good income structure can make that come true. By finding out whether any problems exist and what kinds of problems exist in income structure can be a solution to optimize the structure of farmers' income.

Method/ProcessThis paper makes a comparative analysis of farmers' income in Sichuan, Jiangsu and the whole country during 2001-2015, in order to find out the problems in Sichuan farmers' income structure.

Result/ConclusionThe results show that proportion of household operating income is too large and the benefits are too poor; the proportion of wage income and the total income are both low; and the income structure is imbalanced and so forth. The solution to these problems are to develop modern agriculture, promote the upgrading of industrial structure transformation and urbanization construction, push forward the development of rural financial market, and protect farmers' property rights.
