Review and Prospect of Research on the Construction of Service-oriented Government in China

Purpose/SignificanceThe construction of service-oriented government is not only inevitable requirements of building a harmonious socialist society, but also the manifestation of the transformation of government functions. It is of great value to promote the deepening of state institutional reform under the new situation.

Method/ProcessThis paper reviews the constructionstages of China's service-oriented government and comments on relevant research literature.

Result/ConclusionThe paper puts forward that the construction of service-oriented government in China has gone through four stages: Conception (Idea)—Formation (Discourse)—Construction (Mode)—Improvement (Strategy).Based on the literature review, the paper draws the following conclusions: 1) with the continuous renewal of China's service-oriented government construction concept, the theoretical analysis is gradually updating; 2) with the continuous improvement of the localized theoretical system of service-oriented government, domestic scholars have further understanding of the difficulties and development direction faced by the construction of service-oriented government in China. Based on the comprehensive analysis of the existing research results, this paper puts forward that the future academic research on the construction of China's service-oriented government can be started from perspective selection, concept innovation, theoretical integration, current situation, core tasks, key issues and other aspects.
