Abstract:
Applying the energy consumption simulation analysis software—DeST-h, a ten layers residential building in Chengdu region were simulated. The effects of heat transfer coefficient and shading coefficient of external windows on building energy consumption were calculated in the east, west, south and north directions. The results showed that the optimum energy-saving technique was obtained when using single frame insulating glass with air layer thickness of 9mm for external window. In the east, west, south and north four directions, the maximum influence of shading coefficient variation on heating and air conditioning energy consumption was on south direction, followed by north and west, then east. Therefore, south external windows should be given priority when sunshade measures were put to use.
