Abstract:
In this paper, the CFD simulation software STAR-CCM + is used to simulate the wake field of the MIRA model. The flow mode of the tail flow field was controlled by the active control drag reduction technique with steady jet. The method of jet reduction and the SST
k-w turbulence model were adopted to simulate the tail flow field of the fast-back MIRA model. The position of the tail was studied. The best reduction case was obtained and the variation of the tail vortex was anlyzed. It is found that the pressure of the model can be changed by controlling the separation vortex of the tail of the model in order to reduce the pressure resistance of the model and realize the purpose of drag reduction.
