Abstract: The 21st century is not only an era of international economic integration, but also an era of mitigating environmental risks and improving the capacity for sustainable development. Through the analysis of the recent international research trend, this article aimed to reveal the significance of a multidisciplinary perspective in conducting research related to sustainable development. Taking food security as an example, this article also clarified the implications of risk management and preventive measures in applied settings.
