Abstract: Starting from two aspects of technology and economy, the authors conduct the analysis and comparison for the passenger adaption between BRT and regular buses, at the same time, make a summary of the coordination relationship between BRT and regular buses. As a result, the evaluation model for passenger adaptability based on the index of the travel cost is developed. This model is based on time value theory and the travel costs of BRT and urban regular buses and the judgement of adaptability. This study is based on the case study of BRT in Second Ring Road in Chengdu and Bus No 52, so it is feasible and valid.
