Abstract: Vehicular Ad Hoc networks (VANETs) is a kind of mobile ad hoc networks, which is applied in vehicles communication.They are also the basis of intelligent transportation system.However, VANETs incur the identity disclosure and tracing.Thus the privacy-preserving communication in VANETs is to be the key issue.This work analyzes the privacy and the security model in VANETs, surveys the privacy-preserving technologies in VANETs and presents the future research issues.
