Abstract:
The convergence of cutting-edge digital technology with entrepreneurship in the context of returning to one's hometown in the southwestern border regions constitutes a strategically valuable initiative. This effort is geared towards harnessing the distinctive attributes of this region, with its primary objective being a shift from traditional “life-support” aid to a more self-sustaining approach, thereby reinforcing the achievements in poverty alleviation and facilitating the execution of the rural revitalization strategy. The study delineates five specific facets of digital empowerment in the southwestern border regions, encompassing digital infrastructure, digital entrepreneurship, digital finance, digital governance, and industrial digitization. Key components of digital empowerment for return-to-hometown entrepreneurship in these regions involve the precise identification and support of returning entrepreneurs, the stimulation of entrepreneurial drive amid resource limitations, the integration of resources for digital-era return-to-hometown entrepreneurship, the attainment of elevated levels of openness for return-to-hometown entrepreneurship by capitalizing on regional advantages, and the cultivation of harmonious coexistence and integration between return-to-hometown entrepreneurship and traditional industries. Consequently, the active establishment of mechanisms for precise identification of return-to-hometown entrepreneurial needs and risk monitoring, internal incentives, resource integration, cross-border entrepreneurial openness, and the fusion of traditional industries with return-to-hometown entrepreneurship, all underpinned by digital technology, becomes imperative. It is advisable to bolster the development of digital infrastructure, unlock avenues for the evolution and transformation of digital entrepreneurship, and harness the inclusive potential of digital finance as a safeguard for innovative mechanisms.
