Abstract
Intergenerational transmission of income studies the degree to which income status is transmitted from one generation to the next and reflects the equality of opportunity in a society. The author calculated the contribution of education, health and occupation to intergenerational correlation with intergenerational data from CHNS. The consistent results show occupation occupies first place, followed by education and health. The further analysis of cohort suggests that the three observable channels of transmission are more convincing for poor family, education is more and more important and the analysis of father-son is typical. The implication is the equal access to the labor market and the equalization of education resource are helpful to intergenerational mobility.
