On Master Hu Zhiyu's Acceptance and Dissemination of the Poems by Li Bai and Du Fu

  • In the literary field of Yuan Dynasty, master Hu Zhiyu respects both Li Bai and Du Fu. He venerates Du Fu's poetic art and feelings but can also points out the flaw of Du's poems objectively. He reveres Li Bai's enthusiasm and romance, but also criticizes Li's arrogant style of being without political education. However, in Hu's mind, he prefers to live a free and natural life as Li Bai, which is a typical feeling of an immortal banished from Heaven.
