Abstract
The use of quantifiers in ancient Chinese poems is a common method of linguistic expression and their vague semantic meaning tend to more unique in artistic charm than exact numerals.This paper analyzes functions of semantic fuzziness of quantifiers in ancient Chinese poems, and put forward functions of fuzzy numerals semantically producing its change of poetic images and highlighting its artistic effect of aesthetics in magical ancient Chinese poetry by qualifiers repetition, which can explain the issue of deviation between syntagmatic and paradigmatic relation in ancient poetry.In the course of translation, the translator should learn to discover its foregrounding linguistic meaning behind fuzziness of quantifiers in Chinese poetry and reproduce equivalently aesthetic values of its original poem in order to enhance the special effect or meaning and artistic appeal in translating Chinese Poetry works.
