On Paratext and Translation Studies —Study on Translation of Novels from Preface and Postscript

Many studies have been probed in the translation of novels, but few studies have been conducted on the translation of novels from the perspective of paratext translation. Based on descriptive approach, the significance of paratext translation is demonstrated from the illustrative function of paratext in novels. The result shows that the translation of paratext is the royal road to know the author, the works, the translation purpose and theory of a translator.
