A Research into English Translation of New Internet Neologisms Based on "Translation as Adaptation and Selection"——A Case Study of the Word "Naked"

  • With the development of science and technology and the popularity of internet, new internet neologisms have become part of vocabulary. How to convey cultural connotation in translation set a higher demand on the translator to attain cultural exchange successfully. This paper, based on "translation as adaptation and selection", a new approach proposed by professor Hu Gengshen, attempts to explore and analyze the dynamic strategy played by translators in the process of translation through three dimensional transformations including linguistic, cultural and communicative dimensions.
