Urban history is a new discipline in China, and not only the research group shows the trend of being younger, highly educated and with high professional titles, but also the research institutions and academic team construction have made great progress in recent years, while the training of new talents has been highly valued by relevant institutions. The study of urban history in China has been greatly improved during the "13th Five-Year Plan" period. Based on the relevant data obtained from the "14th Five-Year Plan" survey organized by the National Social Science Office, and combined with literature review, this paper analyzes the achievements, shortcomings and weak links of China's urban history in recent years, and discusses the future frontier issues and key research areas.
