Abstract:
The study conducted a language survey of 2509 Tibetan families in Batang County, Ganzi Prefecture, Sichuan Province to analyze quantitatively family language management status of Tibetan parents, and found that most Tibetan parents have a sense of family language management, and the proportion of parents who practice a bilingual plan of mother tongue and the standard national language is relatively high. On the other hand, Tibetan family language management shows differences due to parents' occupation and children's age; and family language management has an impact on family language environment and children's language cognition. To popularize the standard national language in ethnic minority areas, families should be taken as an important front. Others should be to further strengthen cultivation of parents' awareness of language management in family, give full play to the main role of children in family, and encourage children to actively intervene and lead the implementation of family language management.
