Abstract: Hebing Zixue Pian Yun Bianlan basically reflects the phonetic sound of Beijing dialect in the early days of the 17th century. But some problems exist: prescriptive syllables arbitrarily, archaic rhyme, variations affected by other dialects, and inconsistence between rhyme content and rhyme chart, which degrade its phonetic purity.
