Abstract: Alexis Wright won Miles Franklin Award in 2007 for her novel Carpentaria. It is the first time for Australian Aboriginal writer of Chinese descendant to win such award. Its absence of attention indicates the marginal place of Australian literary studies in China. Based on the "Dreaming", in combination with magic realism and biblical metaphor, Carpentaria expresses the concern on aboriginal native title and discourse.
