Abstract: Liang Shiqiu translated The Complete Works of Shakespeare on the basis of sincerity. Meanwhile, he used free translation to a different extent in the translation of"national cultural symbols", "national ideological symbols", "sound and image symbols of nation", "national social symbols", "national regional symbols"and"national material symbols". The accommodation was mainly adopted in referring to Chinese culture, making full use of Chinese advantages, emphasizing the connotation and euphemism, arousing pleasant associations and introducing folk custom of foreign countries. Liang Shiqiu takes the source-language culture as the basis and also takes the target-language culture into consideration, which reflects the state of equilibrium and harmony.
