Abstract:
Shuyuan Zaji is a book recording all things in Ming Dynasty with rich content, in which the phonetic phenomena of dialects in the middle Ming Dynasty is recorded. For instance, in Wu dialects "鱼" was homonym for "虞", "王" for "黄", and "张" for "浆"; in Northern dialects, alveolar nasal rhyme merged with velar nasal rhyme; in Shanxi dialects "同" was homonym for "屯" and "妻" for "青". The language materials are important for the studies on the history of phonology, phraseology and dialectology in Chinese.
