Abstract:
This paper discusses the relationship between father presence and resilience on the basis of investigation to 532 college students via Chinese version of Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale(CD-RISC) and Chinese Revision Version of Father Presence Questionnaire(FPQ-R).The results show that: 1) father presence is significantly correlated with resilience of college students; 2) father-mother relationship, father's relationship with his father, and conceptions of father's influence can significantly predict the resilience; 3) father's relationship with his father, father-mother relationship, conceptions of father's influence and physical interaction with father can significantly predict the tenacity; 4) father-mother relationship, father's relationship with his father and conceptions of father's influence can significantly predict the strength; 5) father-mother relationship and perception of father's involvement can significantly predict the optimism.A high quality of father presence is a factor of protectiveness and beneficial to developing the resilience of college students.
