Abstract: Taizhou School is distinctive with numerous and jumbled thoughts, just after the orthodox Wang Yangming schools such as Zhezhong and Jiangyou. It is also a product of the combination of Confucianism, Daoism and Buddhism in then academic background. But it developed counter-traditions from traditions, diverging from the orthodox to the heterodox. This development trend was closely related to the life experiences and the theories of Taizhou philosophers. This paper analyzes the thoughts and life experiences of the representative philosophers of Taizhou School to reveal the thought style and characteristics, publicity approaches, critical character and innovative spirit of the school.
