Abstract: In recent years, social workers have been continuously involved in the resettlement of ex-servicemen, and shown strong ability and quality. However, their core professional ability needs to be improved. According to the capacity framework of "value-knowledge-skills" of social workers, the professional core competence of social workers for the resettlement of ex-servicemen is shown in the following aspects:on the value level, they should adhere to a political correctness, an advantage-based concept, and respecting ex-servicemen; in terms of knowledge, they should master the theory of social adaptation, the knowledge of vocational guidance and counseling, and the policy of resettlement; in terms of skills, they have to master skills of stress management, career counseling, social mobilization and re-socialization.Therefore, it is necessary to improve professional core ability of social workers for the resettlement of ex-servicemen through professional education, vocational training and policy planning.
