Abstract: The changes of information environment and readers, as well as the challenges the leading role position is facing, bring about new requirements for libraries in the construction of literature and information resources in the digital age. The previous principles and methods of library literature and information resources need to change in order to keep pace with the times. In the digital age, literature resources are still the basic service and useful, the role of librarians is irreplaceable, and the advantages of collections are obvious. Based on the nature and task of libraries in the digital age, libraries should make clear the policy, scope and key points of the construction of literature information resources, analyze the changes of the information environment and readers expectation, and formulate the basic strategies, listen to the opinions of readers fully and develop the construction of literature resources independently. In the construction of literature and information resources, target, systematization, balance, economy and sharing should be put in the first place, equal importance should be attached to both physical and digital resources, and physical and virtual collections, and priority given to basic collection and local documents. In such a digital age, libraries should not only pay more attention to the discovery and utilization of network resources, especially the free network resources; but clarify the relationship between the construction of literature information resources and the service of readers, while solving the problems that readers do not know or feel difficult or inconvenient. Librarians take the main responsibility in the construction of library literature resources, and libraries have to guarantee the public service and improve the quality and efficiency of collection.
