A Brief Introduction of Wu Mi's Lecture Notes on the History of Foreign Literature

摘要: 吴宓于原西南师范学院（现西南大学）中国语文系为1959—1960级学生讲授外国文学课时主编的《外国文学史讲义》幸存，并即将面世。该讲义论述了世界文学的发展过程，对经典作家作品进行细致的分析，尝试以历史唯物主义观点探讨西方文学史现象，学术的时代特色十分突出，为外国文学研究的经典之作。

Abstract: Lecture Notes on the History of Foreign Literature, compiled and edited by Wu Mi when he was teaching foreign literature to students from 1959 to 1960 in the Chinese Language Department of Southwest Normal University (Now: Southwest University), survived and will be published soon. The Lecture Notes discusses the developing process of world literature, makes a detailed analysis of classic writers' works, and tries to explore the phenomenon of western literature history from the viewpoint of historical materialism. The academic characteristics of the times in the Lecture Notes are outstanding. It is a classic work of foreign literature research.
