Abstract: The 6th Plenary Session of the 11th CPC Central Committee is recorded into the history of the Communist Party of China by adopting The Resolution on Certain Historical Issues of the Party Since the Founding of the People's Republic of China and completing the Party's efforts to set things right from chaos in terms of its guiding ideology. The conference scientifically recognized and summarized the history of the Communist Party of China 32 years after the founding of the People's Republic of China, and scientifically evaluated Mao Zedong's historical position and Mao Zedong Thought, which prepared the conditions for the development of the practice and theory of building socialism with Chinese characteristics. The content and process of drafting The Resolution on Certain Historical Issues of the Party Since the Founding of the People's Republic of China presented emancipating the mind and seeking truth from facts, developing productive forces and improving people's lives, and comprehensively understanding history and historical figures, all of which have provided a methodological instruction for people to further understand the history of the Party.
