Abstract:
Fertility intention has always been a hot topic in society and academia, this article is bases on the data of China Family Panel Studies (CFPS) in 2018, from the dimensions of internet use to investigate its influence on career women's fertility intention. The results show that: (1) Whether or not to use the internet has a significant impact on the willingness of working women to have children. Compared with career women who do not use the internet, those who use the internet have lower fertility intentions; (2) Personal income plays a significant mediating role in the impact of internet usage on the fertility willingness of career women, with a mediating proportion of 28.77%; (3) Heterogeneity research has found that internet usage has a significant inhibitory effect on the fertility intention of career women in enterprises, but has no significant impact on the fertility intention of career women in other industries. In order to enhance the willingness of career women to have children, it is necessary to guide correct parenting concepts and improve the maternity and employment security for career women.
