Abstract: The construction of an ecological civilization is a significant political issue that is integral to the Communist Party of China's mission and purpose. It is also a strategic initiative that concerns the welfare of the people and the future of the nation. Under the steadfast leadership of the Communist Party of China, China's approach to modernizing ecological governance over the past century has evolved through four historic phases: the new-democratic revolution, the socialist revolution and construction, the new period of reform and opening up and socialist modernization, and the new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics. During these times, a series of invaluable experiences have been gathered, including the comprehensive leadership of the Party in ecological civilization construction, a people-centered approach to developing ecological civilization, the creation of a scientifically robust ecological civilization system, and the adherence to a coordinated and systematic methodology. These experiences underscore the distinct advantages of the leadership by the Communist Party of China and the socialist system with Chinese characteristics. They have laid a solid foundation for unswervingly following a unique path to Chinese modernization and have contributed Chinese wisdom and solutions to building a community of life for humans and nature.
