Abstract:
In order to solve effectively application problems of the Altmetrics for Chinese academic achievement evaluation, and under the environment of data infrastructure lack for Chinese academic achievement evaluation, this paper reviews the thought, method, and technology about Altmetrics and the academic assessment practices for Chinese achievements, and puts forward that three problems are needed to solve in applying Altmetrics to evaluate Chinese academic achievements. Namely, the needs of stakeholders in Altmetrics application should be identified, the Altmetrics tools for Chinese academic cyberspace should be designed, and metrical integrated model should be constructed blended the traditional scientometrics based on the citation and the Altmetrics based on the cyberspace data. Only to solve these essential issues in Chinese Altmetrics evaluation, academic evaluation for Chinese achievements will have a solid data infrastructure.
