Abstract: Sichuan Federation of Social Science Associations has always been devoted to construct Sichuan social science characteristic think tank, strengthen political ideology, give full play to organizational advantages, focus on important issues, and innovate mechanism system. It has got great achievement in promoting the sinicization of Marxism, launching major research results and converting to applications, pushing forward discipline construction and development in social science, providing more public cultural products to people, and further enhancing the influence of social science characteristic think tank. However, there still exist upgrading gap in anumber of significant achievements such as international impact, solution to homogenization problems, the role-play of "intelligence" and "library", and funding input. The construction of social science characteristic think tank must be guided by Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, carried out with adherence to academy, union, internationalism and forward-looking, based on the development of characteristic philosophy and social sciences, directed by problems solution in the new age, andcentered on value orientation of people. Only in this way, a research system that combines intension construction with extension development can be established.
