Abstract: "Arriving at the capital,waiting to be interviewed by the king,respectfully presenting the four fus (an ancient poetic style) and being an official "are all important events in Yang Xiong's official career.In the book Han Shu·Yang Xiong Zhuan,the above-mentioned events are recorded.However,due to the briefness in accounting and the mistakes arising in the process of making private copies,the specific time of the four events has become a controversial issue in academic circle.The article proposes that a systematic reading of the whole book Han Shu·Yang Xiong Zhuan·Zan,especially a correct understanding of" Huangmenshilang (an ancient Chinese official title) with Wang Mang and Liu Xin ",is a key to the specific time for the four events.Focusing on the specific time of" arriving at the capital",the article provides reference time for the other three events and breaks a new path to the settlement of conflicts about the specific time of the events in Yang Xiong's official career.
