Abstract: It goes without saying that technological progress will exert influence on economic growth. Technological progress in economically developed areas is usually a driving force for the economic growth of the adjacent economically underdeveloped areas, and the wider the technological gap the stronger the driving force. Western Guangdong Province, an economically underdeveloped area, should take advantage of such relevance to promote its own economic growth by the technological progress in the Pearl River Delta, bridge the gap in economy and make its entrance into developed areas.
