Abstract:
Translation of 24 Cold Mountain's poems by Gary Snyder enjoys great popularity among English countries. This paper aims to study the original poems and translated poems so as to reconstruct the operational norms abided by the translator from the perspective of Gideon Toury's norms theory. The research reveals that Snyder's translation complies with the mainstream translation norms both in metrical norms and textual-linguistic norms at that time, thus gaining a good communication effect.
