Abstract: Sichuan writers were a group of courageous pioneers in the new poetry movement of May 4th Literature Revolution.Kang Baiqing was the first Sichuan writer to have joined in the new poetry movement.Wu Fangji was "the Lone Ranger", and his masterpiece—Wanrong Ci is full of patriotic passion and life vitality.Guo Moruo, the creator of romanticism and the founder of Chinese new poetry, infused completely new spirit and novel form into his poem collection— Goddess, which is a breakthrough in vernacular poems and laid foundation for modern Chinese poetry.In a word, Sichuan writers made a great contribution to the foundation of vernacular poems and the development of modern Chinese poetry.
