Abstract:
Gender is one of the important factors to understand and explain linguistic phenomena. The survey of the dialects in Chinese community scarcely focuses on the relation between gender factors and changes in linguistic systems. A survey of the relation between gender factors and the accent changes in a rural community suggests a particular gender variation model in the different variants of f in linguistic system. Different from the model discovered in western communities, this particular gender variation model is closely related to features of rural community structure in China and some social factors such as male and female social status, ideas, and linguistic attitudes, etc.
