Abstract:
Novel rhetoric is put forward by the American scholar Wayne Booth, and later received worldwide attention. In Wayne's opinion, novel is a rhetorical art, both in material selection and expression. As the most outstanding "bottom narrative writer" of the contemporary, Cao Zhenglu's success is not only the realistic subjects and position, but also the application of rhetoric skills and the formation of a unique rhetoric style. From the perspective of language, metaphor and irony, this paper explores Cao's rhetoric effect so as to better understand the overall artistic style of his novels.
