Abstract: The derivative concept of "Arcade Literalness" in Benjamin's The Task of the Translator by far has been seldom mentioned. In line with Benjamin's linguistic viewpoint and based on the major concepts and their relationship with Arcade Literalness in The Task of the Translator, the significance and function of the concept are elaborated in the article, followed by more deliberations on its advantages and specific forms supported with concrete illustrations. Finally, the method of Arcade Literalness is summed up in two points.
