Abstract:
The paper mainly discusses Wei Liaoweng's views on
Rites of the Zhou Dynasty in the Song Dynasty and his method of interpretation on
Rites of the Zhou Dynasty in the Song Dynasty。Wei's attitude was valued on
Rites of the Zhou Dynasty in the Song Dynasty. He viewed the author of
Rites of the Zhou Dynasty had lived in the Qin Dynasty or in the early years of the Han Dynasty. Wei Liaoweng recognized
Zhouli Zhu written by Zheng Xuan in the Dong Han Dynasty was provided with the important academic value. Meanwhile, he purposefully criticized and refuted this book. Wei Liaoweng recognized
Zhouguan Xinyi written by Wang Anshi in the Song Dynasty was provided with the important academic value. At the same time, he criticized Wang Anshi's work for not correctly comprehending the essence of
Rites of the Zhou Dynasty in the Song Dynasty。
