Abstract: Xue Lundao is a famous sanqu composer in the middle and late Ming Dynasty. A variety of factors, like the natural environment, Yanzhao culture spirit, military career and Confucian thoughts, result in his romantic sanqu style. The unique Xue Style, whose aesthetic value and importance cannot be ignored, stands out among the mainstream amorous style in the late Ming Dynasty.
