Abstract:
According to the multimodal metaphor theory, Anger metaphor can be represented by other multimodalities of signs out of language, including audial signs, color signs, body posture signs, events and actions signs. From the perspectives of cognitive motivation and modals, the multimodal representation of Anger metaphor in the real world is not always compatible with those in language, comics and animated films. For instance, there is no motivation found in languages, comics or animated films for "white face" representing Anger in the real world; Anger in the real world does not end in "loss of control" but ends in calmness.
