Abstract: Under the influence of Chinese philosophical thoughts, Chinese translator will adopt distinct aesthetic experience, aesthetic psychology and aesthetic orientation to perceive, appreciate and express beauty. Consequently, their English translations are full of Chinese characteristics. Based on a systematic study of causal relationship between Chinese philosophical thoughts and translation aesthetics, the thesis can safely draw the conclusion that Chinese translation aesthetics are characterized by three features, namely, fuzzy beauty, beauty of symmetry in sound, form and meaning as well as the overall perception beauty. This study can help the establishment of translation aesthetics with Chinese characteristics and promote the research of translation aesthetics.
