Abstract:
Since the discovery of the Sarcophagus at the upper reaches of the Minjiang River in the early years of the Republic of China, the characteristics of the funerary burial objects combined with the northern steppe color and Shu, Dian as well as the culture of Chu, were extoled by the academia. However, there are more characteristics of Shu culture within the sarcophagus at the upper reaches of the Minjiang River, which is a "compound culture" with Shu as its major traits. The causes to the formation of the "compound culture" are the affection of the geography and resource in the borderland culture and the agriculture-nomad borderland culture, which is fertilized by the agricultural civilization.
