Abstract:
The study chose 14 parents with autistic children as experimental subjects, among whom seven were randomly selected to accept group counseling intervention, while the other seven received no counseling intervention at all. To decide the effect of group counseling on the emotional management capability of parents with autistic children, all the subjects had been tested by several criteria: emotional flexibility scale, anxiety scale, depression scale and simple ways of coping questionnaire before and after the consultation. The results show that (1)there is sharp difference in the scores of experimental group between pre-test and post-test on positive emotions capacity, ability of emotional resilience, emotional flexibility, anxiety, depression and positive coping; (2)There is significant difference in scores between the experimental group and the control group on positive emotions capacity, ability of emotional resilience, emotional flexibility, anxiety, depression and positive coping. Therefore, group counseling is an effective way to improve the emotional management ability of parents with autistic children.
